Dell P2010H Unboxing and Review

The 19″ Philips monitor which I was using with my Mac mini decided to break. I tried to get it fixed, but it wasn’t possible. For a few weeks, I went back to using a 14″ CRT monitor but I wasn’t liking it too much. As a replacement, I wanted something which would match the [...]

Linkinus – IRC Client for OS X

Linkinus: a beautifully designed IRC client for OS X, packed with a plentiful amount of awesome features to make you fall in love with IRC whether you are a first time chatter or an IRC veteran. I don’t have much more to say about the app. It’s the best IRC client I’ve ever seen. Simple. [...]

Dell U2410 Review

I’ve been using the Dell U2410 24″ monitor for a few weeks, and although I’m no monitor expert, I shall attempt to review it from an average users point of view. Firstly, the design. It’s quite simple and basic; it looks professional if not slightly boring. The monitor is mostly black with the leg and [...]

Apple Magic Mouse Review

I’ve been using the Magic Mouse for long enough now to be able to review it properly. The video above is fairly long, and covers everything in great detail, whereas this review will be shorter. If you currently use a Mighty Mouse, and are thinking about switching to the Magic Mouse, you’ll probably get used [...]

Apple Magic Mouse: First Thoughts

I don’t actually have a Magic Mouse, yet. I have ordered one, though. However, I have used one, in an Apple Store, so therefore I’m able to comment on it, but please wait a few weeks for my full review, which I’ll be able to give after using it for awhile. Firstly, the design. The [...]

Apple Universal Dock Review

The good: Simple, elegant design; easy to use. The bad: Expensive; adds little functionality to your iPod. The rating: 3/5 The Apple Universal Dock is a hard thing to review. It looks really nice, it keeps your iPod or iPhone protected, by keeping it off your desk, it looks great along side other Apple stuff [...]

Bluehost Review

I’ve recently switched to Bluehost to host jakewright.net. So far, I’ve been very impressed with the service. There’s not much I can say about them — the price is reasonable (especially with a coupon), you get all of the features you could ever need, the servers are fast and the support is fantastic. Simple.

Snow Leopard

The good: good, solid, reliable upgrade; not too expensive; lots of small refinements to improve OS X. The bad: no major upgrade; nothing special, and nothing to get exited about. The rating: 4/5. I eventually got a copy of Snow Leopard, from Amazon! The two videos above show the unboxing and installation of it, and [...]

Rating: 4/5 The Behringer Xenyx 1002 Mixer is a great piece of kit. It’s very sturdy, and well built, features lots of [...]

The Crabble – a $5 alternative to an iPod Dock?

Pros: Very cheap; Small and light weight; Works really well. Cons: Doesn’t look very professional. Rating: 5/5 I would not be surprised if you have an iPod. And, If you haven’t got one, you probably want one. A common accessory to go with an iPod is a dock. A simple dock from Apple stand your [...]
