Paint for Mac

A recent blog post was about a Mac app called Scribbles which is a really powerful drawing tool. Since OS X does not come with anything like Microsoft’s Paint, many switchers miss that program. Scribbles is a great app to fill that missing gap on your Mac, however if you want something that makes you feel more at home, try Paintbrush!

Paintbrush is completely free and is nearly exactly like Paint on Windows -- it just looks better with a few more features, but that’s obvious, it’s a Mac app! This is what it says on the website:

Paintbrush can open and save to most major image formats, including BMP, PNG, JPEG, TIFF, and GIF. Full support for transparency is available for image formats which support an alpha channel (currently PNGs and GIFs). You can also paste images copied from many common Mac applications, including Microsoft Office and Apple iWork.

So, there you go! Check it out -- Paint, but for your Mac. Available for free from http://paintbrush.sourceforge.net/
