A New Way to Micro-Blog
We’ve all heard of Twitter and you, as I do, may use use and love Twitter. Most of us are also aware of many other websites that offer a similar service to Twitter. By that, I mean they allow you to send a status update to all of your followers, usually in less that 140 characters. http://12seconds.tv is a website that lets you post updates but not with text -- with Video! You are required to record a 12 second (or less) video to post to the website for all of your followers to watch.
At the moment, this service lacks desktop clients but with time, this problem should be solved. Already you can upload a file from your computer, from a mobile phone, record videos and save them using the widget on the website and even send videos as an email attachment to a special email address you are given.
Until 12seconds.tv come up with a better way of watching other peoples videos, at the moment you have to go to the website, I don’t think it will be too successful. However, they are on the right track as they have developed a widget that can be embedded in a webpage that shows your latest video updates. This could be extremely useful to keep your website visitors up to date with where you are and what you are doing while adding something a little different to your website instead of adding another block of text to the sidebar.
http://12seconds.tv is a relatively new website so you will benefit by signing up now as you have more of a chance of getting a good username and, if the website takes off and becomes popular, you will be ready to go!
