Linux – Live CD and Virtualization
These are two old videos. I made these before I got my Mac so the quality, especially that of the audio, isn’t too good.
In the first video, I explain how to download DSL (Damn Small Linux), which is a 50MB version of Linux, burn it to a CD, and use it as a live CD. This means that you can run it from the CD without installing it, thus, your current operating system will not be affected. The hard drive won’t even be touched by linux.
Ignore what I say at the end about the live stream. I AM ALREADY ‘DOING MY OWN’!
In the second video, I explain how you can use Moka5, which since, has been renamed to mokafive, to run Ubuntu Linux, or any distribution you like, within Windows. This is called virtualisation. This video was featured in the Moka5 Blog. I would like to thank the person who put it there as it has generated a lot of traffic for this video. I apologise for the really bad audio quality in this video. I do realise it is hard to understand anything I say.
This is also the very first video that was recorded live. As you know, all of my videos are recorded live now. You can watch them at http://live.jak-e.com
