uStream.tv Tech Network
As you know, I record my videos live, and then upload them to TubeMogul. From there, they’re distributed to various video sharing websites such as YouTube and Revver. At then end of most of my videos, I mention that you can watch them get recorded live and chat with others in the chat room. However, the chances are, if you’ve been to the live stream, I was off air and the chat was empty. This is about to change!
About one month ago, I sent an email to uStream.tv. It was a request to join the Tech Network. You may have seen, on the homepage of uStream.tv, there is a box showing all of the live shows with various categories underneath. One of these is a tech category. The shows that are in this section must be selected by people from uStream.tv as it does not just show all technology shows. You’ve probably guessed by now anyway, but I am officially a proud member of the uStream.tv Tech Network!
My show will be visible on the home page of uStream.tv, when the tech section is clicked on, while I am streaming live video. When I am off air (not streaming), I will not appear in this list. Therefore, my aim is to stream a lot more often, in order to attract more viewers.
I plan on streaming 24/7, but this depends on a few things. One of which being that I need a program called CamTwist, which must run the whole time I’m streaming in order to add the text and the chat to the live video. This program beats the hell out my CPU! It causes the Mac mini to heat up more and the fan is required to run faster, thus, being louder and making it hard to sleep with. Also, it makes the Mac mini run slower. This is annoying when trying to run other CPU intensive tasks.
If you have any suggestions about streaming live audio and video, then please send them in. You can find my email address on the Contact Page. I will not type it here because Spam bots will pick it up. You can find the live stream and chat at the usual place which isĀ live.jak-e.com
