Mesmerizing Colored Dots

There are lots of colored dots which start off in a line. They are all different sizes, with the smallest at one end, and the largest at the other. Each dot makes a different sized circular shape. There is also a white line that starts at the centre of the circles, and finishes on the circumference of the largest circle (this line is stationary by the way). When a dot touches the line, a musical note is played. The pitch of the note depends on how far up the line the dot hit it.
Every so often, some of the dots will line up and hit the line together. And, after exactly three minutes, every single dot will line up and hit the line, all at the same time, the cycle then starts again.
