Windows XP Hidden Theme Music
Do you remember the first time you started your computer? Well, if you are using Windows XP, you will have heard some nice, calming music, while setting up Windows. This music is probably used to relax people so they don’t get as annoyed when they get their first Blue Screen of Death.
Whatever the music is for, you can listen to it anytime you want! The music is on your Hard Drive. Either Watch the video below or follow these steps to find it:
- Open My Computer -- Click ‘Start’ and then ‘My Computer’
- Double Click the Drive where Windows is installed -- normally ‘Local Disk (C:)’
- Double Click the folder called ‘WINDOWS’
- You may now need to click ‘Show Files’, or something similar
- Find, in the long list of strange names, a folder called ‘System32′, and double click it
- Now double click a folder called ‘oobe’
- Finally double click the folder called ‘Images’
- The Music file is in this folder -- it is called ‘Title’ or ‘Title.wma’
I don’t know why the music file is in a folder named ‘Images’ and I don’t know why that is in a folder called ‘oobe’. It just is! Anyway, you can now play the music file using a program like Windows Media Player. You may also want to copy it to the Desktop so you can easily access it. Personally, I like to play the music in the background while I work.
